A Rainbow After Two Storms

Emily and I got to attend such a beautiful birth on the 10th. It was a rainbow after two storms, that felt like its own storm at times. When labor came the excitement to meet this little one and see who they were was so big! It was a labor of graceful, brave movement from mama, laughs between contractions, and kisses from the older boys.

A Creative Shift in Labor

After a while of patient watching and helping, it became clear that we weren’t getting the progress we needed to bring baby earthside. This mama was quick to agree to try inverted Walchers position in the tub. With her husband hugging her on one side of the pool, and Emily and I supporting her legs on the other side of the pool, she looked like she was in an inverted rainbow. After 3 contractions in this position, she came to her knees to rest, and almost immediately felt her water break.

Six Minutes to Baby

Baby was in her arms just 6 minutes later! As this mama said, an inverted rainbow brought her rainbow baby! They all waited until the boys came inside to find out together that it was a third boy! Thank you so much for letting me be your midwife and have the honor of walking this part of life with you! It’s a journey I won’t forget!

Every birth has its own rhythm, its own challenges, and its own quiet moments of courage and love. At Heart Strings Birth Services, we believe birth is more than a medical event - it is a sacred unfolding, lovingly supported and deeply personal. These stories are shared with permission to honor the families who trusted us with their care and to encourage others as they walk their own birth journeys.
