Meet Central MN Home Birth Midwife Elizabeth
Meet Elizabeth

Certified Professional Midwife, Licensed Traditional Midwife

I have been involved in birth for over 20 years now. As with many midwives, having my first child at home was transformative. It made me fall in love not only with my beautiful baby girl and the process, but also with the way my midwives educated and supported me. Desiring to follow in their footsteps, I began my journey as a doula and childbirth educator in 2002 and then began my midwifery studies that year.

Being a midwife is so much more than a job,
It feels like
who I am and was meant to be.

I see my role as your midwife to be a partner in your journey.  We sit and troubleshoot discomforts, talk through fears, and adjust for your specific nutritional needs. I love sharing information, demonstrating positions, body mechanics... you name it! Laughter is one of my favorite things and I love getting to be silly as I demonstrate.

Some personal things about me: My girls and I moved to Brooten, MN from the Pacific Northwest in June of 2022 to be near family after losing my husband in the fall of 2021. Being here in rural Minnesota has been nostalgic for me since I grew up in a farming community of South Georgia. I have 5 girls at home still and 11 total who were all born at home, including my twins! I love music, sing and play the piano, and my garden is my happy place.
