From Days of Labor to a Sunrise Birth: How Preparation Changed Her Second Birth

This mama and I have been on a journey together, and it’s been beautiful! Marissa gave me permission to share a little bit of her birth stories, since both of these babies are Heart Strings babies!
The Strength It Took to Sing Her First Baby Earthside
This toddler you see here… early labor started dayzzzzz before active kicked in, and then active labor was a 2 day event. We did all of the positions…. Pulled out all the stops… and she was so mentally strong that this long labor didn’t send her to a point of giving up. She pressed into it and found her way through! One of my favorite parts was singing low sustained notes with her during transition. She literally sang her baby down and worked so hard bringing her earthside.
Simple Changes That Led to a Shorter, Smoother Second Birth
This little baby boy you see here….we prayed for an easier birth but also worked to ensure it would be different, she was consistent with her nutrition, she added more pelvic floor work, shifted into a different chiropractic style. And the result? A doable early labor starting in the evening and shifting to active labor early morning with a baby about sunrise. Second babies are usually easier but cutting your labor time by days and shifting to so little active labor is generally due to some preparation changes. I am so impressed with how these simple adjustments make such a huge difference.
Marissa, thank you to you and Mark for trusting me with your care. It is so fun to watch your family grow and so special to witness all of the sweetness. Please send me all the baby pics and family updates! Caitlyn and I are always here if you need us! Also, this was Caitlyn’s 3rd repeat mama she’s helped with <3

Every birth has its own rhythm, its own challenges, and its own quiet moments of courage and love. At Heart Strings Birth Services, we believe birth is more than a medical event - it is a sacred unfolding, lovingly supported and deeply personal. These stories are shared with permission to honor the families who trusted us with their care and to encourage others as they walk their own birth journeys.
