Trusting Her Research and Choosing a Different Path

Emma reached out early pregnancy asking advice on several things. She felt she would go with a hospital birth because I don’t take insurance but then reached out again frustrated with how her experience felt - it wasn’t what she had researched and decided she wanted. After a lengthy interview and tons of questions from her husband, they decided they would like to move forward with care with Heart Strings, and let me tell you what, we had so much fun together! I appreciate that Emma is so open, asking great questions but also being open to doing the things that I thought would help her birth be the best it could be.

A Smooth First Labor and a Strong Team

When the day finally came, it was about as smooth as first labors go! I came to check on her after the water broke. Left for a bit for them to try to rest, gave some position suggestions when sleep was evading her, and it didn’t take long for labor to turn active. She and Michael worked like an awesome team and welcomed this little baby boy with bravery and love! This postpartum has come with all of the normal struggles plus a few but you have walked it with so much strength and love, Emma! The portion of postpartum I help with may be officially over but you all hold such a special place in my heart. Please keep me updated with all the pics and know I am always willing to be a listening ear or extra mama to talk to.

Every birth has its own rhythm, its own challenges, and its own quiet moments of courage and love. At Heart Strings Birth Services, we believe birth is more than a medical event - it is a sacred unfolding, lovingly supported and deeply personal. These stories are shared with permission to honor the families who trusted us with their care and to encourage others as they walk their own birth journeys.
